As a student affairs professional, I combine the heart, passion, creativity, and problem-solving skills of both an educator and an engineer. I love working with students and empowering them to make a difference in the world around them.

Having graduated from the University of Michigan, I am a huge Michigan fan! As a result of having many friends on athletic teams, I enjoy watching virtually any Michigan sporting event. Like many Michigan alumni, I will always have a special place in my heart for watching the Wolverine football team play in the Big House. There is no place on earth like the Big House.

In my free time, I love to travel! Up until recently, most of my travel had been within the United States. To learn more about my passion for travel and see where I have been, check out my photo map!

Outside of travel, I have also really enjoyed working with children with special needs. During high school and the start of college, I filled my summers volunteering as an aide in a special education classroom working with students with various autism spectrum disorders and Down syndrome. I loved returning to the classroom each summer and seeing the great progress each of the students had made. While I was working full-time in California, I continued a similar type of volunteer work by getting involved as a sidewalker with a therapeutic riding program. I really miss this part of my life and I am looking forward to getting involved with the community again once I complete my graduate program.

Additionally, I have a fantastic four-year old pug named Sadie, who I am training to work as a therapy dog. She still has some work to do before she is ready to be certified, but so far she has made great progress in her obedience training and I have really enjoyed doing the training with her. Eventually, I am also hoping to also teach her some fun tricks.

Recently I have also started working with glass. I am still just a beginner, but it is something I really enjoy. So far I have had the opportunity to try blown glass, torch work, stained glass, and fused glass. My favorite is the fused glass because I find it very relaxing, but soldering the stained glass was also really fun! I look forward to continuing to pursue my fused and stained glass interests in the future.

Above all of my hobbies, my family is the most important thing in my life. As an only child, I am very close with my parents and they are a huge part of my life. The have both helped shape me into the person I am today and continue to support me along the way.
